Healthy Start Scheme

Simon Lightwood, Labour MP for Wakefield, has called on the Government to address how they plan to ensure that the Healthy Start Scheme is accessible to everyone who needs it.

Due to the spike in the cost of baby formula, many parents are turning to unsafe means in order to feed their children. On May 25th, Mr Lightwood spoke in the House of Commons to ask what the Government’s plan is to ensure that more families are receiving support.

The Government has previously pledged to provide 75% of eligible people with the Healthy Start Scheme however, only 67% of eligible people in Wakefield actually receive support, leaving hundreds of families in need.
